RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Violence against nurses is common. Previous research has recommended further development of the measurement of violence against nurses and integration of the individual and ward-related factors that contribute to violence against hospital nurses. This study was designed to address these issues by investigating the associations between violence, the listening climate of hospital wards, professional burnout, and perceived quality of care. For this purpose, we used a new operationalization of the violence concept. METHODS: We sought nurses to participate in the study through social media which yielded 765 nurses working in various healthcare systems across Israel who volunteered to complete a self-administered online questionnaire. 80% of the sample were hospital nurses, and 84.7% were female. The questionnaire included validated measures of burnout, listening climate, and quality of care. Instead of using the traditional binary measure of exposure to violence to capture the occurrence and comprehensive impact of violence, this study measured the incremental load of violence to which nurses are subjected. RESULTS: There were significant correlations between violence load and perceived quality of care and between constructive and destructive listening climates and quality of care. Violence load contributed 14% to the variance of burnout and 13% to the variance of perceived quality of care. The ward listening climate moderated the relationship between burnout and quality of care. CONCLUSIONS: The results of this study highlight the impact of violence load among nurses and the ward listening climate on the development of burnout and on providing quality care. The findings call upon policymakers to monitor violence load and allocate resources to foster supportive work environments to enhance nurse well-being and improve patient care outcomes.

OBJECTIVES: to discuss the content of manuals, with emphasis on orthopedics, in support of the development of nursing care culture. METHODS: cultural-historical method articulated with document analysis technique. The sources were nursing manuals - Portuguese, French, English, and Spanish - from 1875 to 1928. RESULTS: this study pointed to 12 works - 6 authored by physicians, 2 by nurses, 3 institutional, and 1 by a Sister of Charity - that presented, in a transversal way, the professionalization process initiated in Europe. The manuals addressed first aid care and immobilization methods, from the simplest, such as improvised splints, to the application of plaster casts. CONCLUSIONS: the nurses' work, even in a limited capacity, showed that they were able to observe warning signs so that doctors could act, with some exceptions.

OBJECTIVE: To communicate the experience of developing concepts for the construction of a care model through focus groups. METHODS: An experience report on the development of concepts through remote focus groups with members of a research group from a public university in southern Brazil. RESULTS: Focus groups were developed in which homogeneity and heterogeneity criteria were observed among participants. In addition to the concepts of the nursing metaparadigm, the concepts of care and family-centered care were developed, relevant to the nursing care model in question. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: Despite the challenges of conducting remote focus groups, they were suitable for the collective construction of concepts for a nursing care model, allowing the interaction of participants from different locations.

AIM: The aim of this study is to explore the extent of missed nursing care in Turkey and identify its predictors. DESIGN: This was a descriptive, cross-sectional, multicentre study. METHODS: A total of 477 nurses working in seven public hospitals participated in this study from March to July 2019. The survey included two components: a personal and professional characteristics data form and the MISSCARE survey. RESULTS: The study revealed that emotional support, patient bathing and ambulation were the most frequently missed nursing care activities. An inadequate number of assistive personnel and staff, along with an unexpected increase in patient volume, were identified as the primary reasons for missed nursing care. Of the 21 missed nursing care activities, nine predictive models showed statistical significance (p < 0.05). Factors such as the type of unit, years of work experience, working hours, number of patients cared for in a shift and intention to leave the unit were found to be significant predictors of seven missed nursing care activities (p < 0.05). CONCLUSION: This study found that numerous variables influence each care activity, which suggests the need to devise more targeted and specific strategies to minimize missed nursing care. Thorough investigation into the impact of these strategies on each care activity is essential.

Introducción: las enfermedades oncológicas son la causa de 9.5 millones de muertes en el mundo y la tercera causa de muerte en México. La aparición de heridas tumorales es una complicación de la progresión de la enfermedad oncológica con síntomas que repercuten en la calidad de vida de los pacientes. Objetivo: evaluar la percepción de calidad de vida de pacientes hospitalizados con diagnóstico primario de cáncer y herida tumoral en un hospital de tercer nivel de la Ciudad de México. Metodología: estudio descriptivo que incluyó a 57 pacientes hospitalizados con diagnóstico de cáncer primario y herida tumoral. La percepción de calidad de vida se evaluó con el cuestionario McGill Quality of Life Questionnaire (MQOL) con 4 dimensiones: de bienestar físico, psicológico, existencial y de apoyo social. La herida tumoral se estadificó con la escala Malignant Cutaneous Wound Stating System. La severidad de la enfermedad se midió con la escala APACHE II. El análisis se hizo con estadística descriptiva. Resultados: de 57 pacientes con edad entre 24 y 81 años de edad, predominó el cáncer de mama en 31.5% de mujeres y cáncer de testículo en 10.5% de hombres. La herida tumoral grado IV se presentó en 72% de los pacientes. La percepción de calidad de vida en general, que se midió con el Single ítem scale, fue buena y regular en 38.6 y 26.3%, respectivamente. Conclusiones: para la práctica de enfermería la evaluación de la calidad de vida en las personas con cáncer significa una diversidad de posibilidades para intervenir y promover el bienestar en la persona y la familia.


Introduction: Oncological diseases are the cause of 9.5 million deaths in the world and the third cause of death in Mexico. The appearance of tumor wounds is a complication of the oncological disease progression with symptoms that affect the quality of life of patients. Objective: To evaluate the perception of quality of life of hospitalized patients with a primary diagnosis of cancer and tumor wound in a tertiary care hospital in Mexico City. Methodology: Descriptive study that included 57 hospitalized patients diagnosed with primary cancer and tumor wound. The perception of quality of life was evaluated with the McGill Quality of Life Questionnaire with 4 dimensions: of physical, psychological, and existential well-being, as well as social support. The tumor wound was staged using the Malignant Cutaneous Wound Stating System scale. The severity of the disease was calculated with the APACHE II scale. The analysis was made with descriptive statistics. Results: Out of 57 patients aged 24 to 81 years, breast cancer predominated in 31.5% of women and testicular cancer in 10.5% of men. Grade IV tumor wound occurred in 72% of patients. The perception of quality of life in general, measured with the Single Item Scale, was good and regular in 38.6 and 26.3%, respectively. Conclusions: For nursing practice, the evaluation of the quality of life in people with cancer means a diversity of possibilities to intervene and promote the well-being of the person and the family.

Introduction: The shift change in the nursing care process, primarily located in hospital settings, is carried out through the transfer of verbal, written and gestural information from the interaction between nursing staff. The theoretical reference is from Elton Mayo's human relations. Objective: To understand and interpret the meaning of the nursing staff's experiences regarding the environmental factors involved during the shift change. Methodology: Qualitative study carried out with the phenomenological method. The information was obtained through non-participant observation and a semi-structured interview with operational nursing staff. Data saturation was reached with 32 interviews. Results: 7 categories were constructed: Verbal/language communication, Patient reception, Patient safety, Continuous care, Administrative documents, Shift change hours, and Work supplies. Conclusions: The findings show the various factors that interact and intervene between nursing staff during the shift change, which is an essential activity to provide continuity of care and guarantee safety in patient care.


Introducción: el enlace de turno en el proceso de atención de enfermería, primordialmente situado en escenarios hospitalarios, se lleva a cabo mediante la transferencia de información verbal, escrita y gestual a partir de la interacción entre personal de enfermería. El referente teórico es el de relaciones humanas de Elton Mayo. Objetivo: comprender e interpretar el significado de las experiencias del personal de enfermería acerca de los factores del entorno que intervienen durante el enlace de turno. Metodología: estudio cualitativo realizado con el método fenomenológico. La información se obtuvo mediante observación no participante y entrevista semiestructurada en personal de enfermería operativo. La saturación de datos se alcanzó con 32 entrevistas. Resultados: se construyeron 7 categorías: Comunicación verbal/lenguaje, Recepción del paciente, Seguridad del paciente, Cuidado continuo, Documentos administrativos, Horarios de enlace de turno e Insumos de trabajo. Conclusiones: los hallazgos permiten mostrar los diversos factores que interactúan e intervienen entre el personal de enfermería durante el enlace de turno, que es una actividad esencial para dar continuidad al cuidado y garantizar la seguridad en la atención de los pacientes.

Introdução: Conhecida como púrpura trombocitopênica imunonológica, autoimune ou isoimune, a Púrpura Trombocitopênica Idiopática é uma doença hematológica frequente que pode ser aguda, mais frequente em crianças, ou crônica, quando persiste por mais de um ano, típica em adultos. Objetivo: Identificar na literatura científica dados sobre a doença púrpura trombocitopênica, quanto às manifestações clínicas, diagnóstico, tratamento e cuidados de enfermagem. Material e Método: Estudo embasado em revisão integrativa de literatura com busca realizada na base de dados da Biblioteca Virtual da Saúde, Scientific Electronic Library Online e Google Acadêmico, pelos descritores: "Púrpura Trombocitopênica Idiopática", "Cuidados de Enfermagem", e suas respectivas traduções em inglês: "IdiopaticThrombocytopenic Purpura" e "Nursing Care" em associação com operadores booleanos "OR" e "AND", para ampliar a busca dos artigos, dos últimos cinco anos. Resultados: Foram identificados 121 artigos com potencial de relevância, sendo excluídos 4 por duplicidade, totalizando em 117 artigos. Após leitura do título e resumo foram selecionados 17 artigos e excluídos 100. Em seguida, excluídos 12, por não responderem a questão norteadora do estudo, totalizando em 5 artigos para realizar a síntese qualitativa na íntegra. Há destaque quanto a importância da sistematização da assistência de enfermagem para o paciente acometido pela doença, e sobre os desafios da equipe de enfermagem no procedimento de transfusão sanguínea. Também um relato de experiência descreve como é viver com a doença e o tratamento, uma revisão integrativa sobre as manifestações clínicas da doença e a dificuldade de diagnosticar a PúrpuraTrombocitopênica Idiopática. Conclusão: Púrpura Trombocitopênica Idiopática é considerada uma doença grave e de difícil diagnóstico, pois pode ser confundida com outras doenças. O tratamento é específico, realizado com procedimentos de plasmaférese e transfusões sanguíneas em unidades especializadas e de alta complexidade assistencial. Assim, a equipe de enfermagem precisa estar preparada para os cuidados próprios e o enfermeiro, estimulado a desenvolver maneiras de cuidar e pesquisas com abordagens na doença


Introduction: Known as immunological, autoimmune or isoimmune thrombocytopenic purpura, Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura is a frequent hematological disease that can be acute, more frequent in children, or chronic, when it persists for more than a year, typical in adults. Objective: To identify in the scientific literature data on thrombocytopenic purpura, regarding clinical manifestations, diagnosis, treatment and nursing care. Material and Method: Study based on an integrative literature review with a search carried out in the database of the Virtual Health Library, Scientific Electronic Library Online and Google Scholar, by the descriptors: "Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura", "Nursing Care", and their respective English translations: "IdiopaticThrombocytopenic Purpura" and "Nursing Care" in association with Boolean operators "OR" and "AND", to expand the search for articles from the last five years. Results: 121 potentially relevant articles were identified, 4 of which were excluded due to duplicity, totaling 117 articles. After reading the title and abstract, 17 articles were selected and 100 were excluded. Then, 12 were excluded for not answering the guiding question of the study, totaling 5 articles to carry out the qualitative synthesis in full. There is emphasis on the importance of systematizing nursing care for the patient affected by the disease, and on the challenges of the nursing team in the blood transfusion procedure. Also an experience report of what it is like to live with the disease and the treatment, an integrative review on the clinical manifestations of the disease and the difficulty of diagnosing Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura. Conclusion: Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura is considered a serious disease and difficult to diagnose, as it can be confused with other diseases. The treatment is specific, carried out with plasmapheresis procedures and blood transfusions in specialized and highly complex care units. Thus, the nursing team needs to be prepared for self-care and the nurse encouraged to develop ways of caring and research with approaches to the disease

Conclusión: La púrpura trombocitopénica idiopática es considerada una enfermedad grave, de difícil diagnóstico, ya que puede confundirse con otras enfermedades. El tratamiento es específico, realizado con procedimientos de plasmaféresis y transfusiones de sangre en unidades especializadas de alta complejidad asistencial. Así, el equipo de enfermería necesita estar preparado para el autocuidado y el enfermero incentivado a desarrollar formas de cuidar e investigar con abordajes de la enfermedad

Introdução: As lesões por pressão (LPP) correspondem a danos na pele ou em tecidos moles encobertos, geralmente em áreas de proeminências ósseas, ou associado ao uso de dispositivo médico ou outro tipo de artefato. Diante disso, a enfermeira deve desenvolver sua prática, baseada em evidências científicas e priorizar a prevenção da formação das lesões na pele. Objetivo: Relatar a experiência de estudantes de Enfermagem sobre o desenvolvimento de ações de promoção do cuidado seguro relacionado à prevenção de LPP em pacientes internados em um hospital público pediátrico na Bahia. Metodologia: Trata-se de um estudo de caráter descritivo, do tipo relato de experiência, realizado por seis estudantes de Enfermagem em um hospital estadual pediátrico localizado no estado da Bahia, no período de novembro 2022. Principais resultados: Percebeu-se que existem profissionais de enfermagem que possuem interesse em obter mais conhecimento sobre o assunto, porém ainda há lacunas de conhecimento por parte da equipe sobre alguns assuntos abordados, tais como a escala de Braden e a utilização do colchão caixa de ovo para todas as faixas etárias. Foi possível perceber que os passos para prevenir a lesão por pressão não são cumpridos por parte da equipe e isso pode dificultar a prevenção das lesões de forma efetiva. Conclusão: Recomenda-se, portanto, que as unidades assistenciais, juntamente com suas respectivas coordenadoras, realizem ações contínuas de educação permanente, a fim de contribuir para uma melhor qualificação profissional, promovendo, acima de tudo, a segurança do paciente.


Introduction: Pressure lesions (PPL) correspond to damage to the skin or covert soft tissue, usually in areas of bony prominence, or associated with the use of a medical device or other type of artifact. Therefore, nurses should develop their practice, based on scientific evidence and prioritize the prevention of skin lesion formation. Objective: To report the experience of nursing students on the development of actions to promote safe care related to the prevention of PPL in patients admitted to a pediatric public hospital in Bahia. Methodology: This is a descriptive study, of the type of experience report, conducted by six nursing students in a pediatric state hospital located in the state of Bahia, in the period of November 2022. Main results: It was noticed that there are nursing professionals who have an interest in obtaining more knowledge about the subject, but there are still gaps in knowledge on the part of the team on some subjects addressed, such as the Braden scale and the use of the egg box mattress for all age groups. It was possible to notice that the steps to prevent pressure injury are not met by the team and this can hinder the prevention of injuries effectively. Conclusion: It is recommended, therefore, that the care units, together with their respective coordinators, carry out continuous actions of continuing education, in order to contribute to a better professional qualification, promoting, above all, patient safety.


Introducción: Las lesiones por presión (LPP) corresponden a lesiones en la piel o tejidos blandos encubiertos, generalmente en zonas de prominencia ósea, o asociadas al uso de un dispositivo médico u otro tipo de artefacto. Por ello, el personal de enfermería debe desarrollar su práctica, basándose en la evidencia científica y priorizando la prevención de la formación de lesiones cutáneas. Objetivo: Relatar la experiencia de estudiantes de enfermería sobre el desarrollo de acciones para promover cuidados seguros relacionados a la prevención de PPL en pacientes internados en un hospital público pediátrico de Bahía. Metodología: Se trata de un estudio descriptivo, del tipo relato de experiencia, realizado por seis estudiantes de enfermería en un hospital público pediátrico localizado en el estado de Bahía, en el período de noviembre de 2022. Principales resultados: Se observó que hay profesionales de enfermería que tienen interés en obtener más conocimientos sobre el tema, pero todavía hay lagunas de conocimiento por parte del equipo en algunos temas abordados, como la escala de Braden y el uso del colchón caja de huevos para todos los grupos de edad. Se pudo notar que los pasos para prevenir lesiones por presión no son cumplidos por el equipo y esto puede dificultar la prevención de lesiones de forma efectiva. Conclusiones: Se recomienda, por lo tanto, que las unidades asistenciales, junto con sus respectivos coordinadores, realicen acciones continuas de formación continuada, con el fin de contribuir a una mejor cualificación profesional, promoviendo, sobre todo, la seguridad del paciente.

RESUMO

AIMS: This manuscript aims to provide a description of an evidence-informed Science of Care practice-based research and innovation framework that may serve as a guiding framework to generate new discoveries and knowledge around fundamental care in a more integrated manner. BACKGROUND: New ways of thinking about models of care and implementation strategies in transdisciplinary teams are required to accelerate inquiry and embed new knowledge and innovation into practice settings. A new way of thinking starts with an explicit articulation and commitment to the core business of the healthcare industry which is to provide quality fundamental care. DESIGN: This discursive paper delineates an iteratively derived Science of Care research and innovation framework (Science of Care Framework) that draws from a targeted literature review. METHOD: The Science of Care Framework integrates caring science with safety and symptom sciences with implementation, improvement, innovation and team sciences. Each science dimension is described in terms of seminal and evolving evidence and theoretical explanations, focusing on how these disciplines can support fundamental care. CONCLUSIONS: The Science of Care Framework can serve as a catalyst to guide future efforts to propel new knowledge and discoveries around fundamental care and how best to implement it into clinical practice through a transdisciplinary lens. IMPACT ON NURSING SCIENCE, PRACTICE, OR DISCIPLINARY KNOWLEDGE: The Science of Care Framework can accelerate nursing discipline-specific knowledge generation alongside inter and transdisciplinary insights. The novel articulation of the Science of Care Framework can be used to guide further inquiries that are co-designed, and led, by nurses into integrated models of care and innovations in clinical practice.

Although evidence-based practices exist for preventing hypothermia in patients during surgery, few studies have focused on this concern in postoperative patients. The aim of this qualitative study was to explore the most challenging issues experienced by surgical ward nurses while managing the body temperature of adult surgical patients. To address this research gap, this study used a qualitative descriptive design to document barriers to body temperature management as reported by a sample of 16 perioperative nurses. The semi-structured, face-to-face interviews were digitally recorded, transcribed verbatim and analysed using inductive content analysis. The main barriers fell into three categories: professional nursing ability limitations, unfavourable working conditions and management of human resources. The eight subcategories were disadvantageous professional views, professional knowledge limitations, low motivation to provide nursing care, non-standard treatment environment, inadequate equipment and care protocols, heavy nursing care loads, inadequate staff training and ineffective staff supervision. These findings highlighted the importance of adequate resources, proper education and evidence-based care protocols in the effective delivery of body temperature management to postoperative patients.

Introducción: La gestión constituye una actividad fundamental de la organización del trabajo y en el contexto profesional de Enfermería tiene como reto lograr la sostenibilidad del cuidado. Este profesional asume su gestión como un proceso complejo, que manifiesta la necesidad de un análisis valorativo, en los aspectos teóricos y metodológicos, que exigen la disciplina y el sistema sanitario. Objetivo: Sistematizar el término gestión en el contexto de Enfermería profesional. Métodos: Revisión bibliográfica sistemática de obras publicadas durante los años 2010 al 2020, seleccionadas durante los meses enero a abril del 2021. Se utilizaron palabras clave reconocidas en DeCS y operadores booleanos: "Administración de recursos humanos" AND "Organización" OR "Administración" AND "Administración Hospitalaria" AND "Atención de Enfermería" OR "Servicios de Enfermería". La búsqueda fue realizada en las bases de datos: Dialnet, SciELO, Índex, Redalyc, Medigraphic. Se utilizó el diagrama de flujo PRISMA para favorecer la formulación de la maniobra de búsqueda. La pregunta guía se estructuró a través de la metodología PICO, cuyo nombre proviene del inglés Patient, Intervention, Comparation, Outcome. La sistematización favoreció la interpretación de los referentes y resultados de la organización del conocimiento científico y la bibliografía cotejada. Conclusiones: Se reconoce la variada similitud de criterios y relevancia de integración y fusión, del proceso de gestión de Enfermería en diversas áreas del conocimiento en la especialidad, con vistas a mejorar la actividad gestora, en correspondencia con el objeto social y los resultados, atemperados a las exigencias del sistema de salud en los diferentes niveles de atención(AU)


Introduction: Management is a fundamental activity of the organization of work and has as a challenge, to achieve the sustainability of care, in the professional context of Nursing. This professional assumes its management as a complex process, which manifests the need for an evaluative analysis, in the theoretical and methodological aspects, which require the discipline and the health system. Objective: To systematize the term management in the context of Professional Nursing. Methods: Systematic bibliographic review of works published during the years 2010 to 2020, selected during the months January to April 2021. Recognized keywords in DeCS and Boolean operators were used: "Human Resource Management" AND "Organization" OR "Administration" AND "Hospital Administration" AND "Nursing Care" OR "Nursing Services". The search was carried out in the databases: Dialnet, Scielo, Índex, Redalyc, Medigraphic. The PRISMA flowchart was used to favor the formulation of the search maneuver. The guiding question was structured through the PICO methodology, whose name comes from the English Patient, Intervention, Comparation, Outcome. The systematization favored the interpretation of the referents and results of the organization of scientific knowledge and the collated bibliography. Conclusions: The varied similarity of criteria and relevance of integration and fusion of the Nursing management process in various areas of knowledge in the specialty is recognized, with a view to improving the management activity, in correspondence with the social purpose and the results, tempered to the demands of the health system at the different levels of care(AU)

Introducción: El empoderamiento es la clave para el desarrollo personal para incrementar la capacidad de autocuidado. Sin embargo, los profesionales de enfermería no lo aplican como herramienta en la construcción permanente de conocimientos a través de la cual fortalecen el desempeño y capacidad profesional. Objetivo: Sistematizar las evidencias disponibles sobre el empoderamiento desde el contexto en que se desempeñan los profesionales de enfermería. Métodos: Revisión integrativa realizada entre los años 2020 y 2021, de artículos publicados en revistas nacionales e internacionales, indexadas en las bases de datos Google Académico, Handle, Scopus, Researchgate, Redalcy y Dialnet, en español e inglés, entre 2012 y 2021. La pregunta guía se elaboró con el acrónimo PICO. La estrategia de búsqueda se realizó mediante los descriptores en ciencias de la salud (DeCs) e inglés en (MeSH) "Empoderamiento/Empowerment", "Enfermería en salud comunitaria/Community Health Nursing", "Cuidados/Care", "Promoción de Salud/Health Promotion", "Prevención de salud/Health Prevention", "Desempeño/Performance" y los operadores booleanos AND y OR. Se empleó el diagrama de flujo (PRISMA). De los 100 artículos identificados se seleccionaron 25. El análisis del contenido facilitó la sistematización y organización de la bibliografía, clasificados en tres dimensiones, proceso educativo, gestión y desempeño. Conclusiones: La sistematización y el análisis de las conceptualizaciones de empoderamiento mostraron diversos puntos de vista y diferentes posiciones. Se ratificó el empoderamiento como herramienta en el desempeño profesional de enfermería en la promoción y prevención de salud, lo que contribuye al fortalecimiento y enriquecimiento de las bases epistémicas de la ciencia enfermería(AU)


Introduction: Empowerment is the key to personal development, increasing the capacity for self-care. However, Nursing professionals do not apply it as a tool in the permanent construction of knowledge through which they strengthen performance and professional capacity. Objective: To systematize the available evidence on empowerment from the context in which Nursing professionals work. Methods: Integrative review carried out between 2020 and 2021, of articles published in national and international journals, indexed in the Google Scholar, Handle, Scopus, Researchgate, Redalcy and Dialnet databases, in Spanish and English, between 2012 and 2021. The guiding question was developed with the acronym PICO. The search strategy was carried out using the descriptors in health sciences (DeCs) and English in (MeSH) "Empoderamiento/Empowerment", "Enfermería en salud comunitaria/Community Health Nursing", "Cuidados/Care", "Promoción de Salud /Health Promotion", "Prevención de salud/Health Prevention", "Desempeño/Performance" and the boolean operators AND and OR. The flowchart (PRISMA) was used. 100 articles were identified, 25 were selected. The content analysis facilitated the systematization and organization of the bibliography, classified in three dimensions, educational process, management and performance. Conclusions: The systematization and analysis of the empowerment conceptualizations showed diverse points of view and different positions. Empowerment was ratified as a tool in the professional performance of Nursing in health promotion and prevention. Contributes to the strengthening and enrichment of the epistemic foundations of Nursing science(AU)

Introducción: El cambio climático cada vez afecta más a la salud de los niños porque presentan un crecimiento y desarrollo inmaduro. Enfermería cuida a este grupo poblacional en primer nivel de atención, donde puede realizar actividades de prevención y promoción de la salud ante esta amenaza ambiental. Objetivo: Describir la percepción del profesional de enfermería sobre los efectos del cambio climático en salud infantil. Métodos: Estudio cualitativo con abordaje exploratorio descriptivo realizado de mayo a junio del 2020, en el primer nivel de atención de la Red de Salud Lambayeque, Perú. La población la conformaron 97 enfermeras, el tamaño de la muestra fue de 12 obtenida por criterios de saturación y redundancia. Se utilizó la entrevista semiestructurada vía telefónica y el procesamiento de los datos fue con el análisis de contenido. Resultados: Se obtuvieron 4 categorías: a) Significado y causas del cambio climático que afectan la salud infantil, b) Identificación de enfermedades en los niños por el cambio climático, c) El actuar preventivo-promocional de la enfermera ante el cambio climático, d) Necesidad de aprender sobre el cambio climático y sus efectos en la salud infantil. Conclusión: Las enfermeras del estudio identificaron algunas causas y enfermedades relacionadas con el cambio climático, en su actuar preventivo se enfocan en la educación de enfermedades infectocontagiosas que afectan la salud infantil. Ante ello, existe la necesidad de incorporar la temática en los planes de estudio de las universidades, pues se encuentra catalogado como uno de los principales problemas de salud pública a nivel mundial(AU)


Introduction: Climate change increasingly affects the health of children, who become affected by immature growth and development. Nurses care for this population group at the first level of healthcare, where health prevention and promotion activities can be carried out in the face of this environmental threat. Objective: To describe the nursing professional's perception of the effects of climate change on the health of children. Methods: A qualitative study with a descriptive exploratory approach was conducted from May to June 2020 at the first level of healthcare of the Lambayeque health network in Peru. The population consisted of 97 nurses and the sample size was 12, obtained by saturation and redundancy criteria. A semistructured interview via telephone was used and the data were processed using content analysis. Results: Four categories were obtained: a) meaning and causes of climate change that affect the health of children, b) identification of children's diseases due to climate change, c) the nurse's preventive-promotional action in the face of climate change, and d) the need to learn about climate change and its effects on the health of children. Conclusion: The nurses in the study identified some causes and diseases related to climate change; in their preventive action, they focus on education about infectious-contagious diseases affecting the health of children. In view of this, there is a need to incorporate the topic into university curriculums, since it is considered as one of the main public health concerns worldwide(AU)

Introducción: La gobernanza en Enfermería consiste en la toma de decisiones de acuerdo con el liderazgo del profesional de Enfermería en la organización, y responde a las necesidades de los grupos de interés. El gremio de enfermería tiene una participación clave en la gestión de los servicios y cuidados proporcionados en el plan de emergencia de la pandemia COVID-19. Sin embargo, hasta estos momentos no se tiene una idea clara sobre su gobernanza y el desarrollo profesional durante este período de crisis. Objetivo: Describir la gobernanza del profesional de enfermería y su relación con la gerencia durante la pandemia de COVID-19. Métodos: Revisión integradora, desarrollada en el período de mayo a julio del 2022, con una construcción de artículos científicos completos disponibles en los idiomas español, inglés y portugués, publicados entre los años del 2018 al 2022, procedentes de las bases de datos PubMed, CINAHL, Scopus, Cuiden, SciELO, Lilacs y Latindex, y con un adecuado rigor metodológico de acuerdo con el diseño del estudio. La búsqueda inicial arrojó un total de 4267 referencias bibliográficas; tras la revisión se filtraron y analizaron 20 artículos que respondían a los criterios de inclusión, para su posterior categorización. Conclusiones: Ante la pandemia de COVID-19, Enfermería persistirá y desafiará su capacidad para pensar, aprender, adaptar y actuar como fuerza laboral sanitaria, y el éxito dependerá del empoderamiento de gobernanza en el equipo de salud. Los modelos de Enfermería no solo deben ir orientados a la formación y preparación de enfermeras de atención directa, se debe potenciar la confianza, autoeficacia y habilidades en gestión y liderazgo en Enfermería(AU)


Introduction: Governance in nursing consists in decision making in accordance with the nursing professional's leadership regarding the organization, as well as it responds to the needs of the stakeholders. The nursing profession has a key role in the management of the services and care provided as part of the emergency plan during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, until now, there is no clear picture of their governance or professional development during this crisis period. Objective: To describe the nursing professional's governance and their relationship with management during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: This integrative review was developed in the period from May to July 2022, with a compilation of full scientific articles available in Spanish, English and Portuguese and published between 2018 and 2022. The scientific articles came from the PubMed, CINAHL, Scopus, Cuiden, SciELO, Lilacs and Latindex databases and their adequate methodological rigor was in accordance with the study design. The initial search yielded a total of 4267 bibliographic references. After the review, 20 articles that met the inclusion criteria were filtered and analyzed for subsequent categorization. Conclusions: In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, nursing will boldly persist with its ability for thinking, learning, adaptation and action as a healthcare workforce, and success will depend on empowering governance in the healthcare team. Nursing models should not only be oriented to the training and preparation of direct care nurses. In this respect, confidence, self-efficacy and skills in nursing management and leadership should be enhanced(AU)

Introducción: La notificación de eventos adversos es reflejo de la calidad asistencial de enfermería y de la cultura de seguridad. Objetivo: Identificar la percepción de enfermería sobre la notificación de eventos adversos en cuidados intensivos pediátricos. Métodos: Estudio cualitativo, de tipo investigación convergente asistencial, realizado en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos del Hospital Provincial Pediátrico "José Luis Miranda", Cuba, de octubre a diciembre del año 2022. Participaron 38 enfermeras, por medio de entrevista informal, observación participante y grupo de discusión. Los datos recogidos en el proceso investigativo fueron organizados por analogía de información y analizados de forma cualitativa, ello incluyó el descubrimiento, codificación y relativización de la información, lo cual permitió identificar categorías, codificar estas categorías y establecer relaciones. Resultados: Los participantes percibían que la notificación de eventos adversos se realizaba de forma verbal al jefe de equipo de enfermería. La ausencia de notificación ocurría por desconocimiento de los aspectos de la cultura de seguridad, temor a sanciones y no existencia de un sistema de notificación. Como parte de las estrategias para la notificación de eventos adversos los enfermeros sugirieron la realización de talleres y cursos formativos sobre cultura de seguridad, crear un ambiente laboral no punitivo que favorezca el análisis y aprendizaje de cada error. Conclusión: Los profesionales de enfermería perciben que se notifican de forma espontánea los eventos adversos en cuidados intensivos, existe la necesidad de formar al personal en cultura de seguridad del paciente y diseñar un sistema de vigilancia de eventos adversos(AU)


Introduction: Adverse event reporting is a reflection of nursing care quality and safety culture. Objective: To identify nurses' perception about adverse event reporting in pediatric intensive care. Methods: A qualitative study, of convergent care research type, was carried out in the intensive care unit of Hospital Provincial Pediátrico José Luis Miranda, in Cuba, from October to December 2022. Thirty-eight nurses participated in an informal interview, with participant observation and a discussion group. The data collected in the research process were organized by information analogy, as well as qualitatively analyzed. This included the discovery, coding and relativization of the information, which allowed to identify and code these categories, as well as establishing relationships. Results: The participants perceived that adverse event reporting was done verbally to the head nurse. The lack of reporting was due to lack of knowledge about safety culture aspects, fear of sanctions and the nonexistence of a reporting system. As part of the strategies to encourage adverse events reporting, the nurses suggested holding workshops and training courses on safety culture, as well as creating a nonpunitive working environment that favors the analysis and learning from each error. Conclusion: Nursing professionals perceive that adverse events in the intensive care settings are reported spontaneously. There is a need to train such staff based on a patient safety culture and to design an adverse event surveillance system(AU)

Introducción: Los servicios de urgencia constituyen entornos donde confluyen múltiples profesiones. En este contexto, los profesionales de Enfermería se muestran como coordinadores en medio de las situaciones complejas que se generan. Por tanto, se necesita concebirlo desde la visión de cada profesional en particular, pues las visiones profesionales se convierten en un elemento a tener en cuenta. Objetivo: Sistematizar la concepción de servicio de urgencia desde una perspectiva de Enfermería. Métodos: Revisión integrativa para un análisis crítico reflexivo de contenidos de documentos publicados durante 5 años, desde 2015 al 2019, con clara metodología y referencial teórico seleccionado durante los meses de octubre-diciembre del 2020. Se utilizaron las palabras clave identificadas en DeCS y operadores booleanos: "satisfacción" AND "servicios de atención de urgencia" AND "enfermería" OR "atención de enfermería". La búsqueda fue realizada en las bases de datos Dialnet, Index, Medigraphic, Redalyc, PubMed. Se utilizó el diagrama de flujo Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analyses para contribuir a la formulación de la estrategia de búsqueda. Conclusiones: La sistematización sobre las concepciones de servicio de urgencias revelan que la Enfermería es protagonista en los procesos que se gestan en este espacio físico y de relaciones humanas; espacio en el que convergen los servicios de salud y de cuyos resultados depende el flujo de acciones posteriores para el cuidado de la salud humana en condiciones complejas, en el que se desarrollan procesos terapéuticos a partir de las relaciones multiprofesionales volcadas a la solución de los problemas de salud del ser humano(AU)


Introduction: Emergency services are settings where multiple professions converge. In this context, nursing professionals are coordinators amidst the complex situations that occur. Therefore, emergency services need to be conceived from the point of view of each professional individually, since particular professional visions become an element to be taken into account. Objective: To systematize the conception on emergency services from a nursing perspective. Methods: An integrative review was carried out aimed at a reflexive critical analysis of contents from documents published during 5 years, from 2015 to 2019, with a clear methodology and theoretical referents, selected during the months of October-December 2020. Keywords identified in DeCS, together with Boolean operators, were used: satisfacción [satisfaction] AND servicios de atención de urgencia [emergency care services] AND enfermeria [nursing] OR atención de enfermería [nursing care]. The search was performed in the databases Dialnet, Index, Medigraphic, Redalyc, PubMed. The flowchart Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analyses was used for contributing to the formulation of the search strategy. Conclusions: The systematized conceptions about emergency service reveal that nursing is a protagonist in the processes taking place in this physical setting of human relations. Health services converge in such setting, decisive for the flow of subsequent actions aimed at caring for human health in complex conditions, and where therapeutic processes are developed based on multiprofessional relationships aimed at solving the health problems of the human being(AU)

Objetivo: descrever a percepção do técnico de enfermagem e a sua atuação no bundle de prevenção de pneumonia, associada à ventilação mecânica em Unidade de Terapia Intensiva. Método: estudo descritivo e qualitativo, realizado com técnicos de enfermagem de uma Unidade de Terapia Intensiva Adulto de Porto Alegre. Coleta dos dados realizada por meio de entrevistas gravadas, seguindo roteiro semiestruturado. Dados analisados sob a ótica da análise temática de Minayo. Resultados: participaram 40 técnicos de enfermagem, em queemergiram quatro categorias: a) atuação do Técnico de Enfermagem no bundle de prevenção de Pneumonia Associada à Ventilação Mecânica (PAVM); b) itens que compõem o bundle de prevenção de PAVM; c) fragilidades na implantação do bundle de prevenção de PAVM; d) educação continuada sobre PAVM. Considerações finais: participantes conhecem as medidas de prevenção, reconhecem sua importância e as executam direta e indiretamente. A equipe utiliza um mnemônico próprio para memorização dos itens do bundle.

Método: estudio descriptivo, cualitativo, realizado con técnicos de enfermería de una Unidad de Terapia Intensiva Adulto de Porto Alegre. Recolección de datos realizada por medio de entrevistas grabadas, siguiendo guion semiestructurado. Datos analizados bajo la óptica del análisis temático de Minayo. Resultados: participaron 40 técnicos de enfermería. Surgieron cuatro categorías: a) actuación del Técnico de Enfermería en el bundle de prevención de neumonía asociada a la ventilación mecánica (NAVM); b) ítems que componen el bundle de prevención de NAVM; c) fragilidades en la implantación del bundle de prevención de NAVM; y d) educación continuada sobre NAVM. Consideraciones finales los participantes conocen las medidas de prevención, reconocen su importancia y las ejecutan directa e indirectamente. El equipo utiliza un mnemotécnico propio para memorizar los elementos de bundle.


Objective: to describe the perception of the nursing technician regarding their performance in the bundle of prevention of pneumonia associated with mechanical ventilation in an Intensive Care Unit. Method: a descriptive, qualitative study conducted with nursing technicians from an Adult Intensive Care Unit in Porto Alegre. Data collection performed through recorded interviews, following a semi-structured script. Data analyzed from the perspective of thematic analysis of Minayo. Results: the participants were 40 nursing technicians. Four categories emerged: a) the role of the Nursing Technician in the bundle for the prevention of ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP); b) items that make up the bundle for the prevention of VAP; c) weaknesses in the implementation of the bundle for the prevention of VAP; and d) continuing education on VAP. Final considerations: participants know the prevention measures, recognize their importance and execute them directly and indirectly. The team uses its own mnemonic to memorize the bundle items.
